Calculator guide
Temperature Unit Converter helps you explore the stated conversion question. Start with the labelled inputs, then review the method, worked example and limitations before using a result.
Formula or method
Fahrenheit = Celsius×9/5+32. Kelvin = Celsius+273.15. Absolute temperature conversion includes an offset; intervals are different.
How to use this calculator
- Enter the temperature and select the source and destination scales.
- Check the absolute-zero limit; absolute temperatures use offsets as well as scale factors.
Worked example
20°C equals 68°F and 293.15 K. A change of 20°C is instead a change of 36°F.
Understanding the result
Compare the output with the temperature unit converter worked example using exactly the same inputs. A different assumption or rounding convention can produce a different displayed result; the output does not establish personal or professional suitability.
Limitations and assumptions
- Keep absolute temperatures separate from temperature differences. Kelvin has no degree sign, and negative Kelvin is outside this model’s physical domain.
- The worked example demonstrates the stated assumptions, not a recommendation about your personal circumstances.
Frequently asked questions
Which inputs should I check first?
Follow the Temperature Unit Converter input instructions above. Check each measurement, date, selection or expression before comparing results.
Why might my result differ from another tool?
Compare the other tool's temperature unit converter method, input units, rounding and assumptions. A matching title does not guarantee that both tools answer the same question.
Does a linked reference certify this result?
No. A reference can explain a formula or provide background for Temperature Unit Converter, but it does not endorse this website, validate personal inputs or establish professional suitability.
